In addition to feeding the world with quality products, the company contributes to changing the world through sustainable production, from farm to table, as well as actions and projects with great potential for a positive impact on society and the environment.
Any company can be the protagonist of this transformation, regardless of its size. But to achieve sustainable economic growth, access to knowledge, finance, and consumer markets is critical. STP plays this role and connects the links in the animal protein production chain, bringing to this context some differentiated practices.
The advance of the agricultural frontier and the deforestation are among the causes that threaten the habitat of several wild animals. STP reinforces its commitment to the environment, helping to protect species that guarantee the health of the entire local ecosystem by supporting NGOs that work to protect these animals. We also act in the dissemination of educational materials to raise awareness of the population on the matter.
Meat quality is totally related to animal welfare and health. We search to promote good practices on animal welfare through training and independent audits, in order to ensure to the animals the five freedoms determined by the Farm Animal Welfare Council, an independent British council that is a global reference in this matter: environmental, behavioral, psychological, sanitary and physiological.
STP’s commitment is to contribute and influence the agents of the food value chain to participate in the sustainable development of Latin America. With the support of food producers, civil society, and third-party audit, it will be possible to monitor how our partners will be following up our sustainable agenda. STP’s agenda goes as from fighting deforestation to monitoring our partners farms by geo-monitoring system, directly and indirectly.
It’s in childhood that the cognitive development of the human being is quite significant, and when the child builds the basis that guides his posture in the future, being more flexible to changes, adopting new behaviors and habits. Thus, environmental education in childhood allows the individual to develop as a citizen aware of their attitudes and the consequences they bring to nature, contributing to the construction of a citizen with a sense of environmental responsibility. STP, through the Nature Ambassadorprogram, will provide educational content on sustainability and the environment for children of farmers and their employees.
The damage represented by the lack of food is not only physical, but results in neurological damage, accompanied by disorders in the cognitive and emotional areas, making the individual vulnerable to numerous diseases caused by low immunity.
From a physiological point of view, proteins obtained from meat consumption play a fundamental role in growth, maintenance of the integrity of body structures, good performance of their functions, formation of enzymes, hormones, neurotransmitters, hemoglobin and have beneficial effects on the system central nervous.
To help children evolve and develop in the future, ensuring adequate nutrition in the first years of life, the commitment of STP, its volunteers, farmers, and local communities is to map the areas from which food is sourced to ensure animal protein for day care and preschool for children up to 5 years old.
For STP, Sustainability and Consciousness are intimately connected and need to walk together. This is the company's main objective: to raise awareness and encourage social and environmental programs through economic evolution, providing assistance for other companies and rural producers to achieve their financial goals, while promoting sustainable development.
